CONTRACT MANUFACTURING AT THE CENTER OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE COSMETIC INDUSTRY

2022-03-30

Contract manufacturing will be at the center of the recovery of the cosmetic industry. Thanks to the innovation and research expertise that make the sector one of the excellences in the beauty industry, the most important third-party manufacturers will be the joining link between the supply chain and the finished product, between trends and product variation.

In the last few months, the new regulations related to the safety of production, logistics and distribution processes have led many brands to look for functional alternatives to in-house production, entrusting the management of the processes and the necessary hygienic procedures to another company: from recycling and processing raw materials to managing machineries, textures and packaging.

Among the key players on the market on a global level, ITALCOSMETICI, specialized make-up manufacturer for over 40 years. “ITALCOSMETICI, always focused on clean and sustainable cosmetic, has reinforced its relationship with indie brands with a strong identity to tell, in search of contractors that are able to offer a full service with reasonable MOQs – a request that ITALCOSMETICI has proved to be able to satisfy. In 2020 we have started to collaborate with indie brands, looking for innovative formulations able to differentiate them from the competitors”, affirms Alberto Argnani, CEO of ITALCOSMETICI.

In order to meet the needs of new brands interested in taking advantage of the opportunity of a transforming beauty market, the company continued to invest in research and development: “ITALCOSMETICI has developed cleaner formulations enriched with functional active ingredients”, explains Argnani. “The restart of the beauty sector cannot leave out of consideration the adaptation process for new scenarios where the final consumer spends much more time at home, often in front of a screen or a camera. A consumer who is more and more demanding and attentive to ingredients and formulations of daily skincare products, expressing more interest in solutions that safeguard the skin from the effects of electromagnetic pollution and low exposure to fresh air. For this reason we have developed products that act like a shield against blue light and pollution, and that at the same time prepare the skin to screen exposure.”

Make-up is definitely the segment that has mostly suffered the breakout of the pandemic, but also the most receptive ground for new stimuli: many are the projects and the technologies that can satisfy consumers’ needs. ITALCOSMETICI is working on new propositions too, as confirmed by Argnani: “The future of make-up? Hybrid and multitasking, without a doubt. Fun products used not only as make-up, but also as treatments.”
